Directing

In 1984 Philip was a founding member of the co-operative which converted an upstairs room at the Tabard pub on Bath Road, Chiswick, London, into a Theatre for New Writing. For the next five years, this Writers' Theatre staged ten new plays a year and read and workshopped many more. Philip directed Sam Dowling's THE VIRGIN OF NOTTING HILL at the Tabard.

He runs undergraduate and postgraduate courses at Shakespeare's Globe, and directs student presentations and playreadings under the Read Not Dead banner there.
